Delivery of Specialist Search and Rescue Assets in Extreme Environments

Golden Arrow Technologies has delivered specialist Search and Rescue (SAR) assets to the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue (ICE-SAR), supporting life-saving operations in one of the most demanding environments in the world.

One example of this capability is the Icelandic search and rescue team Ársæll, which operates with advanced sea rescue equipment. As part of this, the team took delivery of “Ingólfur”, a specially designed rescue personal water craft supplied by Golden Arrow Technologies, built on a BRP Sea-Doo platform.

Engineered for Harsh and Unpredictable Conditions

Operating across Iceland’s coastal waters, lakes, and rivers, ICE-SAR teams face:

  • Severe cold and sub-zero temperatures

  • High winds and rough sea states

  • Remote and difficult-to-access locations

  • Rapidly changing environmental conditions

Assets such as Ingólfur are engineered to perform reliably across all these conditions, ensuring rescue teams can respond quickly and effectively.

Supporting Life-Saving Capability

Search and rescue operations depend on equipment that performs without compromise. By working closely with ICE-SAR, Golden Arrow Technologies ensures that all assets support:

  • Fast response times

  • Reliability in critical situations

  • Ease of maintenance and sustainment

  • Long-term operational durability

This enables rescue teams to focus on what matters most – saving lives.

Customised Rescue Capability

The Ingólfur rescue water craft demonstrates our approach to fully customised SAR solutions:

  • Built on a proven BRP Sea-Doo foundation

  • Configured specifically for rescue operations

  • Adapted for multi-environment use – sea, lakes, and rivers

  • Designed for power, agility and rapid response

This type of platform provides a highly versatile and effective rescue tool, capable of operating where larger vessels cannot.

Supporting Life-Saving Operations

For teams such as Ársæll, reliability and performance are critical. The rescue water craft provides:

  • Rapid deployment and response capability

  • High manoeuvrability in challenging conditions

  • Dependable performance across varied environments

  • Practical, field-ready rescue support

This ensures crews are equipped with the tools needed to carry out life-saving operations with confidence.
